What do you do with the slip knot at the end of the first row when knitting?

I’ve been trying to learn to knit, but with not much luck. I have the basic skills down, such as casting on and the knit stitch, but when I get to the end of knitting my first row, I have no idea what to do with the slipknot. What am I supposed to do with it??
